The fire department provides fire suppression and EMS services for the approximately 2,540 residents of the towns of Clymer and French Creek, New York which are located in the far Southwest corner of New York State. The fire department is 1 of 42 fire departments in Chautauqua County. The fire department covers approximately 72 square miles and averages about 170 EMS and 30 fire calls per year.
The fire department receives funding from the Clymer Fire District as well as through donations. A regular monthly meeting is conducted on the last Tuesday of each month, except in December, when it is held on the second Tuesday. A weekly equipment and radio check is conducted every Tuesday night at 7:00PM.
